The Ideal Degree College for Women is distinctive to its priority and thrust which is evident from the following activities implemented effectively at the college:
Holistic Development of Students:
Ideal Degree College for women in its endeavours to impart excellent academics to students and hone their Personalities and unearth their hidden potential talent, IDCW regularly conducts these events which are student-centric.
1. Seminars:
Seminars are conducted in IDCW in different Departments to enhance the subject knowledge and skills. Seminars are conducted extensively to facilitate students in crucial areas of subjects concerned with help of respective faculties and in-house equipment and facilities. Resource persons and subject experts from other institutions are also invited to give presentations for the benefit of the student.
2. Field trips
Field trips are arranged by IDCW in different departments to give on the field experience and create awareness regarding the opportunities and careers available to students after the completion of their degree courses.
3. Workshops:
Workshops are regularly conducted to train and give good insight and understanding of the subject concepts. Workshops conducted till date include –
2-day Workshop on Advanced Genomics for molecular diagnostic application organized by dept. of life sciences on.
Students from the dept. of life sciences attended a workshop on Basic techniques of biotechnology from 28th Nov’2022 to 2nd Dec’2022 organized by Bioengineering and Biotechnology club at chaitanya Bharati institute of tech.
4. FDP –
Faculty development programs were conducted to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculties. Faculties of all departments attend these FDP’s. The FDP conducted till date include –
An FDP on Swayam portal to create awareness on the advantages of swayam portal for staff was attended by all faculties. This FDP was conducted by the dept. of computer sciences on.
An FDP on the usage of ICT tools was conducted by the dept. of computer sciences on.
An FDP on MS-Office tools was organized by the dept. of computer sciences, which was attended by all staff members.
5. Add-on courses –
An add-on course conducted by double entry academy is offered to B.COM students during their final semesters to enhance their knowledge and employability skills. Edu-Republic tie-up: online and offline CRT Training and online couching for state and central govt.jobs.
Faculty also conduct Add-on courses in all departments using the in-house facilities for enhancing the subject skills of students.
6. ICT tools-
95% of the classrooms are ICT enabled. Faculty use marker pens and whiteboards instead of the conventional chalk/blackboard. Faculty use the projectors for giving power point presentations and subject related presentations. Student login will be provided from the college web site for up skilling.
7. Effective mentoring-
Students are monitored based on their performance in internals and mock tests, case studies and assignments conducted from time to time.
Student attendance is closely monitored by mentors and the absentee parents are informed accordingly. Organised data consisting of students credentials are collected in specific formats and filed.
Students who require remedial counselling in some specific conditions like emotional and anxiety related issues are carefully counselled for betterment and overall improvement.
8. CRT classes and Training for students is conducted to enhance their employability skills in on-Campus and off-campus placements. Ideal Degree College for women, since its inception from 1996 onwards provided placement and training to students. Soft skills and life skills are imparted to students in regular curriculum to make them industry friendly and competent. Students are motivated to give presentations, participate in group discussions and mock interviews.
9. IDCW does focus on students who hail from poor economic backgrounds and support them by providing financial help in the form of college fee discount or giving them flexibility in payment of fees. College also tries to pool-in financial help from business organisations like R.S.Brothers who help students from rural backgrounds to pursue their degree.
