Student Code of Conduct & Ethical Guidelines for a Respectful & Disciplined Learning Environment

Ideal College for Women, we strive to maintain a disciplined, respectful and inclusive academic environment where students can learn, grow and excel. The following code of conduct outlines the expectations, responsibilities and ethical standards that all students must adhere to.

General Discipline & Compliance

  • Adherence to Institutional Rules - Students must strictly follow all rules and regulations as updated by the institution. Any violation may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Punctuality & Attendance - Students are expected to be present in classrooms and laboratories at least five minutes before sessions begin. A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory to qualify for end-of-term examinations.
  • Classroom Etiquette - Movement inside the classroom or leaving during lectures requires prior permission from the faculty. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Respect & Conduct - Students should always demonstrate courtesy and respect toward faculty, staff, and peers. Arguments, disrespectful behavior, or misconduct will be dealt with strictly.

Campus Decorum & Facilities Usage

  • Campus Cleanliness – Students must take responsibility for keeping the campus clean. Defacing walls, littering classrooms, or damaging any campus property is strictly prohibited.
  • Library Rules & Silence – Students must handle library books responsibly, avoid writing or marking on them, and return borrowed books on time. Maintaining absolute silence in the library is mandatory.
  • Mandatory Participation – Attendance at all college functions, seminars, meetings, group discussions, industrial visits and viva voce sessions is compulsory.
  • Permission for Organized Activities – Students must obtain prior approval from the Principal before organizing or participating in any college-related events or activities.

Identification & Security

  • ID Cards - Students must wear their college ID cards at all times on campus and present them upon request.
  • Parking - Vehicles should be parked only in designated parking areas to avoid congestion and maintain order.
  • Security Measures - The college has a zero-tolerance policy for ragging, eve-teasing, or harassment of any kind. Offenders will face strict disciplinary action and legal consequences.
  • Visitor Protocol - All visitors must register at the security desk upon arrival and wear a visitor pass while on campus to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Restricted Areas - Access to certain areas, such as faculty offices, laboratories, and administrative sections, is restricted to authorized personnel only. Students must obtain prior permission before entering these zones.

Anti-Ragging & Harassment Policies

  • Zero-Tolerance for Ragging – The college maintains a strict anti-ragging policy. A Vigilance Squad monitors interactions between senior & junior students to ensure a respectful & friendly environment.
  • Prohibition of Coercion – Seniors forcing juniors to complete assignments, lab records, or personal tasks is strictly prohibited & will result in severe disciplinary action.
  • Gender-Specific Areas – Certain areas, such as common rooms, have restricted access based on gender for privacy & safety reasons.
  • Strict Action Against Harassment – Any form of verbal, physical, or online harassment, including bullying & inappropriate behavior, is strictly prohibited. Offenders will face immediate disciplinary action & legal consequences.
  • Anonymous Complaint Mechanism – Students can report incidents of ragging, harassment, or misconduct anonymously through a designated complaint box or online grievance portal, ensuring a safe & supportive environment for all.

Prohibited Activities & Substances

  • Substance-Free Campus – Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drugs, or any tobacco products is strictly forbidden on campus.
  • Misconduct & Expulsion – Any student found guilty of indiscipline, insubordination, obscenity, or disruptive behavior may face suspension or expulsion at the discretion of the Principal.
  • Vandalism & Property Damage – Any act of defacing, damaging, or misusing college property, including classrooms, laboratories, furniture, and equipment, is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
  • Gambling & Unauthorized Transactions – Any form of gambling, betting, or unauthorized financial transactions on campus is forbidden to maintain integrity and discipline.
  • Weapons & Hazardous Items – Possession of weapons, explosives, fireworks, or any hazardous materials on campus is strictly prohibited and will lead to severe consequences, including legal action.
